Welcome to Kristine Mills Music
Prolific American jazz vocalist, Kristine Mills has had the honor of gracing stages throughout the US and UK. Recently she presented several shows inspired by the music of the Great American Songbook at Bert's Jazz Bar located in the 5-star, Merchant Hotel, Belfast, plus an all-new show, DUETS IN LONDON with American Pianist and Composer, Abe Hampton at Piano Smithfield in London. Abe and Kristine also presented their show at a private event at historic Goodnestone Park House in Kent. The DUETS IN LONDON combined the captivating artistry of pianist Abraham Hampton with the savvy and intuition of vocalist Kristine Mills. They shared their most beloved pop, soul, blues and jazz songs but with their special take on the classics.
In October Kristine returned to her hometown of Houston, Texas to perform for the 20th Annual Rendezvous for Dress for Success Houston Gala. This year is Kristine's 10th year in support of this incredible organization that empowers women to change their lives and the lives of their families for the better. Kristine is schedule to return to the Bert's Jazz Bar stage for more shows in November.
Mills is known for being a constant and persistent voice in the jazz scene. With her last album, "Looking Back. Moving Forward." a key moment in her three-decades-long career, she received critical acclaim and media support back in the States. She premiered the single “Hold Fast” with Houston CityBook, then celebrated the premiere with sold-out shows in Houston and Austin, Texas, along with a London debut on January 20, 2022, with pianist Janette Mason and bassist Simon Little
Raul da Gama with World Music Reports says, “Kristine Mills’ talent for songwriting goes well beyond that realm. She is a fine writer of The Song, an even better writer of The Ballad, and best of all she writes a compelling narrative. In short, Mills may be considered a complete musician."
The last album, as well as her other releases, are available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all other streaming platforms.
“'Looking Back. Moving Forward." EP is the retrospective of my songwriting career,” expressed Mills. “It encompasses songs written at different times in my life, but they share universal truths about love, life, and death. Sentiments that are relatable to all of us.”
Reviews
"Kristine Mills’ talent for songwriting goes well beyond that realm. She is a fine writer of The Song, an even better writer of The Ballad and best of all she writes a compelling narrative. In short, Mills may be considered a complete musician." - World Music Report, Raul da Gama
"The saucy babe with the Kelly Cuoco sneer and the shelf full of awards is back with album 6, a tasty adult collection of lite jazz delivered with a classic thrush voice. With one of her feet in the Ellington world and the other in Brazil, Mills’ jazz worthy chops are well suited for bringing the past into the present and future making this sweet jazz for nu ears. A solid performer all the way around, Mills makes it happen in fine style." - MIDWEST RECORD - CHRIS SPECTOR, Editor and Publisher
“Graced with beauty, sensitivity, and a magnetic voice. She makes every song have the effect of an aphrodisiac on the senses.” - Jazz Inside Magazine
“...songs hold true to the infectiously jazzy sound that has propelled Mills into headliner gigs at events like the Brazilian International Jazz Festival and allowed her to play sold-out shows in theaters and performing arts centers around the world — from Houston to Sao Paolo.” - Daniel Renfrow
